Calgary's Lungs

Weaselhead features a range of habitats including riverine, aspen woodlands, grasslands, wetlands and old growth mixed forest -- like this.

Approximately 80% of all of the trees owned by the City of Calgary are found in Weaselhead.

The trees in this -- our largest urban forest -- convert greenhouse gasses produced by Calgary commuters in to oxygen.

It is not unusual, therefore, for people to refer to Weaselhead as our city's lungs.
