General Description

Growth Habit, Form:   Tree,Single Stem
Shape and Orientation:   Erect
Mature Height:  10-20 meters
Bloom Period:   Mid Spring
Flowers:  Red, inconspicuous
Foliage:   Clusters of 10-20 soft green needles, Needles turn yellow and drop off in the autumn
Moisture Use:   Medium
Shade Tolerance:   Intolerant
Alberta distribution: Boreal, northern foothills,  
Habitats:   Acidic wetlands, muskeg
